Here’s 5 effective updates you can make to your website that you don’t need to hire a web developer to do for you.
Contact Details: If the email listed on your website is @gmail / @hotmail / @outlook or any other non-business-related domain, it’s time to change that and sort a business domain for your email (so your email address would become hello@tahneesanders.com instead of sanders.tahnee@gmail.com for example). This drastically impacts the professionalism of your business. *Not technically a website update, but related none the less.
About Page: When did you last update the image of yourself or your team? Or the About blurb? (Hint: I recently visited an about page that referenced the business owner’s child. They now have 3 children.) If you’re needing help on this point, check out this earlier blog post.
Gallery or Portfolio: Out with the old and in with the new. If there is content on your website that you’re no longer proud of, or feels dated… REMOVE it. Rather than keeping older content online for the sake of making your business appear “busy” or ”in demand”, you’re better off having fewer, high-quality, relevant galleries that speak to the calibre of work you want to attract and the clients you want to serve.
Social Media Links: Does your website link to all of your ACTIVE social media accounts? No point linking to a Tumblr or Twitter account you no longer use! Direct your social traffic where you’re bringing the most value.
Blog: I’m a broken record here I know… but a blog that hasn’t been updated in 6+ months isn’t benefiting anyone! Can you schedule three new blog posts for the next month?
