While those first two numbers may not surprise you, I think the next ones will!
Let me break that down for you a little further.
Let’s say you have 500 email subscribers on your list and 1500 followers on social media. (I’m using simple numbers, because maths isn’t my forte!) Using the above engagement and open rates, that means:
- On average, 182 people would read your marketing email
- Less than 75 people would engage with any one piece of social media content
That’s despite your social media following being 3 x larger than your email list!
