If you’ve ever sat at your desk wondering, “Should I let ChatGPT do this for me?”, you’re asking the right question.
AI is brilliant at some things. But it should never replace the high-value work that only you can do.
Whenever I’m feeling stretched or overwhelmed, I run everything through this filter:
Is this task high-value or low-value?
High-value stays with me. Low-value gets outsourced, often to AI.
I use AI to:
And that frees me up to put my full energy into:
If you hand over your high-value work to AI, you risk losing the very thing that makes you stand out.
But if you hold on to everything yourself, you’ll stay stuck in the weeds and have no space for creativity or growth.
AI can help us move faster, work smarter, and save our brainpower for the stuff that really matters. But it can’t make someone feel understood. It can’t build trust. It can’t make your clients feel genuinely valued.
That’s still on us. And it’s also the most important work we do.
So next time you’re staring down a long to-do list, run it through the high-value/low-value test. Give AI the busywork. Keep the “zone of genius’ work for yourself.
