Did you create a new service for your business, launch it to the world and then…. crickets?
Due to COVID, many of us have lost our bread-and-butter bookings and have made changes to our service offerings in the hope of capturing new clients and generating revenue.
One of the reasons some of these services have been met with “crickets” is because we went LOOKING FOR AN AUDIENCE for a service, instead of ASKING OUR AUDIENCE “What are you struggling with and how can I serve you better?”
It’s okay for our service offerings to change — It’s only natural as our businesses grow and we become more in tune with our customer’s needs. But keep in mind those changes should be based upon you responding to data and trends you’ve noticed, or have done research to uncover.
Pop up the question sticker in your Stories and ask your audience what’s challenging them at the moment (as relevant to your particular service), or what would they like to see more of?
Offer 15-minute mini sessions for free and use these as an opportunity to share your expertise while also gathering relevant insights directly from your ideal customer/client.
Create a survey and send it to your email list. (Sometimes an incentive, like an Amazon gift card, is a good way to entice people to fill it out!)
Lastly, always keep in mind the KEY when gathering this type of information is to ask your audience what challenges they are willing to PAY to have solved. Any new service you create will only add revenue to your business if you’re solving a challenge people are willing to part with hard-earned cash to fix.
