When enquiries slow down or web visitors stop converting, the first thing many business owners think is: “It might be time for website update.”
Cue the panic and investing far too much money in a brand refresh and site rebuild!
But here’s the truth: most of the time, you don’t need a shiny new site to get more inquiries. You just need to use the one you already have more effectively.
In almost every client conversation I’ve had on this topic, there’s one issue that jumps out first: no calls to action.
Your website looks polished. Your copy is thoughtful. Your brand feels professional. But nowhere does it clearly say:
We assume people will figure it out. But they won’t… and they don’t!
Your clients need an invitation to take the next step. Without it, they scroll, nod, maybe even admire your work… and then move on.
Instead of rushing into a full rebuild, run this simple audit:
These are low-effort changes you can make today and often, they’re enough to spark the enquiries you’re chasing.
Yes, sometimes you will outgrow your current site. But don’t confuse a dip in enquiries with an urgent need for a redesign.
So before you drop $$$ on a new build, make sure you’re not overlooking the simplest fix of all: asking for the action you actually want.
