Have you dipped your toes into using AI in your marketing yet?
The talk of AI (artificial intelligence) is everywhere… and the conversation has extremes from fear-mongering about it “taking our jobs” to claims it’s capable of doing all of our marketing for us.
The truth, as always, lies somewhere in the middle.
Personally, I’m a huge fan and have used AI in my business in some capacity every day since opening a ChatGPT account in early February. Do I fear it’s coming for my job? Not in the *slightest*.
I’m going to share with you 10 ways you can try using AI to help you in your business but before we get to that—first things first: Just like working with humans, AI is only as good as the prompts and instructions you give and the questions you ask. The more input you provide, such as details of your target audience, industry, niche, tone of voice samples and more, the better the output it delivers.
Let’s get into it: 10 ways you can try using AI in your business marketing.
- Writing Subject Lines.
Written an excellent marketing email but stuck for the subject line? Input your text and prompt AI to: “Create 5 possible email subject lines for this content.”
- Repurposing Content
Input your marketing email or blog post and prompt AI to: “Write 5 individual captions from this content for social media use.”
- Get Better Headlines
Need a better headline idea or additional pin titles for Pinterest? Input your existing headline and prompt AI to: “Write 5 variations of this headline”.
- Generate Content Ideas
Don’t know what to talk about in your marketing? Prompt AI: “What are 10 questions people have about [enter your expertise here]”.
- Improve SEO
Wanting to create more SEO-rich content? Provide AI with details of your target audience, industry, and niche, and it can generate a list of relevant blog topics that have high SEO potential.
- Summarise Content
Overwhelmed with notes? Input the content to AI and ask it to summarise for you into 10 dot points (or less!)
- Write Product Descriptions
Input your product information including its features, benefits, specifications, target audience, and any other relevant details, and ask AI to generate product descriptions for you.
- Outline (or write) Emails
Want a welcome sequence for new email subscribers? Prompt AI to: “Write me a 3-email sequence that [insert your wish here]”.
- Hashtag Research
Ask AI to provide you with hashtags relating to your niche or a particular piece of content. (Always check them before using.)
- Suggesting Pain Points
Ask AI to do audience research on your ideal client and suggest a series of pain points they’re experiencing.
Note: While I personally use ChatGPT, other great AI tools exist within products you might already have, like Notion and Canva.
