Don’t use your competitors as a safety net!
How often have you thought about content you’ve wanted to share, but then changed your mind because it doesn’t feel in alignment with what other people in your industry are doing?
I’m going to say this once, and loudly for impact :
APPROVAL DOESN’T COME FROM YOUR COMPETITORS.
Who are you trying to serve? (Hint: It’s not your competitors.)
Be proud of serving YOUR audience. Make a difference for YOUR potential and existing clients. They are the people who really matter.
Sure, being different feels risky. But risky isn’t wrong—it just makes you feel vulnerable.
But in the paraphrased words of Theodore Roosevelt from 1910, made ever-so-relevant by @brenebrown, it’s not the critic who counts. The credit belongs to the person who is actually in the arena.
Send this to a biz friend who might need the encouragement today.
