I’ve lost count of the number of clients who’ve come to me feeling defeated and/or overwhelmed because they’ve been presented with an idealwordl Marketing Strategy that is completely out of touch with their realworld life.
“I can’t afford to execute this!”
“I don’t have the resources to create this amount of content!”
“I struggle to show up on one social platform! How can I add 3 more?!”
“Am I destined to fail if I can’t make this happen?”
First up, 2 things:
▪️I’m sorry you’ve had this experience. It’s gutting to invest in something you feel you really need, only to realise you aren’t able to execute on its recommendations.
▪️You are NOT going to fail if you don’t have the bandwidth to do “all the things” when it comes to marketing.
Here’s what you can try instead.
👉Be realistic: How many hours a week do you have to put towards your marketing efforts? If that’s just 1 hour, that’s a-ok! Let’s make the most of that 1 hour.
👉Do your research: Which marketing channels have the potential to have the greatest impact on your business, ideally generating inquiries, bookings or orders?
👉Prioritise: Based on the time you have to give, pick two “high value” marketing channels to focus on. I recommend making one of them your email list, and one of them a social media channel.
👉Pour wine or make coffee: For obvious reasons.
You’re better off doing one or two things well and building a truly engaged audience there, rather than attempting to tick all of the boxes you think you *should* without giving any of them the attention they deserve.
Your audience will appreciate the more thoughtful and valuable content. And a clearer mind to focus on the rest of your business… now THAT’S a game changer.
If you haven’t yet figured out what marketing channels work for you and what would be the best use of the limited time you have available, comment below or send me a DM and I’ll see if I can make some helpful suggestions.
