I’ve been talking a lot lately about the difference between marketing EXHAUSTION and marketing SATURATION. If you’re not familiar with the idea, ask yourself this question…
→ Is my overwhelm and general feeling of ‘I’m over it’ when it comes to social media marketing because I’ve been DOING too much of it… or is it because I’ve been CONSUMING too much of it?
Here’s the thing → Your personal content saturation might be real. But that *doesn’t* mean your audience is tired of hearing from YOU.
Read that again.
Now read on for my little marketing pep talk to remind you that your voice matters — and it’s worth using it.
Reminder #1: Your audience chose to follow you.
There’s no coercion involved here. The people who follow you on social media or subscribe to your email list “opted in” to a conversation with you. They value what you have to say and share.
Reminder #2: Small audience = valuable community.
Big businesses are looking for ways to build smaller, more targeted audiences within their huge followings in an effort to increase their customer engagement. As a small business, your investment in personalised marketing and the community you’re building is incredibly valuable and worth nurturing.
Reminder #3: You don’t have to do it all.
You know what works when it comes to connecting with your audience. Put your blinkers on to your competitors and invest your energy in what you know moves the needle most for YOU. Instead of being overwhelmed by everything you can’t do in your marketing, feel empowered to do everything you can.
