Working on your website? A great website starts with a great header.
Here are 3 things every website header must include.
đź‘€ Your header is the first thing people see when landing on your site. They will decide in 3-5 seconds whether they want to scroll on, or leave.
Your header has to do the heavy lifting of very quickly communicating those 👆3 key pieces of information.
Here are screenshots of the header of 4 websites I’ve written including my own, Maturn, Justine Campbell and Travel Agent Achievers.Â
And just to prove this approach doesn’t *only* apply to small businesses, I’ve included the header from the HelloFresh website as well!
Whether we’re big business or “small fish”, communicating our value MATTERS.
đź’ˇWhen it comes to copy, remember this: You can be cute, you can be clever, but first you have to be CLEAR.
If no one understands what you do, how it helps them and how they can get it… they’re not scrolling any further.
→ If you’re fortunate enough to have a “visual” business, images can help you communicate too! Don’t get caught in the trap that everything has to be said with words alone. The visuals matter in a big way too.
