Try this 👇next time you’re going to ask a client for a testimonial.
Firstly, ask yourself the top 3 hesitations a potential client might have about working with you.
For example:
- It’s a lot of money. Will it be worth the investment? (Relevant to most of us.)
- I’m worried they won’t understand the vision I have in my mind. (Particularly relevant for design-type businesses.)
- Am I going to fit in with the other members? (For anything membership related, whether it’s a gym, coaching program, Mastermind etc.)
Once you’re clear on the potential client hesitations, you’re going to frame up some questions to ask previous clients.
- “I appreciate working with me was a significant investment. How did you feel about the value and results you received from our work together?”
- “It can feel like a risk trusting someone to interpret your vision. Were you initially worried about this, and how did the final result compare to your expectations?”
- “Before joining, were you concerned about fitting in with the group? How did your experience with the community turn out?”
When you ask a past client to share their experience in relation to one specific question, 2 things will happen:
- You’ll get testimonials that are FAR more valuable to your business.Â
- You’ll actually get testimonials! (No one enjoys writing a testimonial from scratch! But give them a question to answer and they’ll probably write back in no time at all!)
Will you give this a try?
